Supporting Your Child at Home

Originally posted on CROWN PRIMARY SCHOOL:

A few parents have been asking about ideas to support their child over the long summer holidays so I thought it would be worth reminding people of the Parentzone facility on Education Scotland’s website.

If you click on the link below you’ll find yourself on the Literacy Support page.

If you click below, you’ll find some ideas to support Numeracy at home.

And for general interest to parent/carers of very young children, there’s some interesting work being done here that you may be interested in.

Do remember that learning happens everywhere so while the more ‘formal’ work is worthwhile, being outdoors, exploring the world is equally as valuable. So with the unlimited sunshine we’re going to get (got to stay positive!) plan for some adventures! The Woodland Trust have some great ideas that you can use when you’re out and about, click below to find out more.

The last week of term…

This week is set to be a good one! Here are a few reminders for you:

Tuesday:

  • ALL lost property will be bagged and either reused or donated to the Rag Bag Collection so please make sure your child checks for anything that belongs to them before the end of the day on Tuesday.
  • Moving Up Afternoon will be held today. This is a chance for your child to spend some time with their teacher for next session. Look forward to hearing all about it after school!

Thursday:

  • All parents, carers and family members are invited to join us in Crown Church at 9.30am for our Annual P7 Leaver’s Ceremony.
  • School closes at 12.00. No lunch will be provided today.

Calling all volunteers

As and end of term treat, we are hoping to take P4M to the park next Tuesday. It would be great if we could have some help from any available parents. Feel free to bring along little siblings!

Please get in touch via blog post or email: gmcnee863@highlandschools.org.uk if you are able to help out.

Thanks in advance!

Lots of fun at Landmark

On Friday we visited Landmark for our Primary 4 class trip. We had a great time and all the children behaved very well, representing Crown in the way we would expect. A member of the public who was visiting Landmark, all the way from New Zealand, commented on how well behaved all the boys and girls were and how supportive they were of their team mates (especially Miss McNee when she was doing the Skydive). Well done everyone!

A huge thank you to all the teachers and parent helpers who came along!

School Survey

Originally posted on CROWN PRIMARY SCHOOL:

It’s hard to believe the end of the school year is just around the corner and with this in mind we would appreciate you taking a moment to complete this online survey to let us know how we’re doing.   The results of this survey will be combined with the feedback we received from parents at our Coffee and Chat Sessions and used to inform our School Improvement Plan for next session.  Thank you in advance for doing this and helping our school move forward.

Please complete the survey before Friday 27th June to allow us time to collate and analyse the results before the summer holidays.

Photo Call

Originally posted on crownprimaryone:

You will have received a sample copy of the whole school photo in blue bags recently.  If you wish to order a copy, please get your order in.  There may be a minimum order that we can process so get them in asap to ensure you don’t miss out.  In the past the whole school photo has only been taken every four years so this is a twice in a (primary) lifetime opportunity!

If you haven’t yet made up your mind, there is a full size copy available to view in the school office.
